"It was stepping in to beautiful history with the friendliest most accommodating staff around. Truly special and delicious food."

"Beautiful grounds and castle room. Don’t recommend staying next to the elevator though as it was quite loud"

"Staff amazing location amazing food amazing. Road leading up to hotel just a bit tight."

"Lovely overnight stay, thoroughly recommend!"

"A great stop over on the way to Cornwall A nice welcome on arrival and we found our booking upgraded to a larger room. A good selection of pies for dinner and fresh pastries and coffee for breakfast. Fresh coffee and cafetière in the room was a nice touch."

"Nice historic property"

"Location was incredible, lovely room and grounds"

"There is a lot that is exceptionally good about the hotel. The staff are extremely helpful , the food and drinks of high standard and the spa area very good. The only slight downsides were poor WiFi although this seems to affect the whole village when we visited. We’d love to come back."

"Clean room, very helpful staff and the food was amazing and plenty of parking.."

"A lovely 1 night stay, some lovely added extras for our dog - very dog friendly and staff were really helpful."

"Convenient location in Exeter for access in and out of the city. Friendly staff at check in. Decent buffet breakfast but can get congested at peak times. Parking available but expensive in Exeter. You get a discount voucher which helps a lot. Have stayed here a few times and will continue to do so."

"I had a lovely stay and nothing was too much bother for Sue. Lots of choice for breakfast. I would happily stay here again. Even had a scarecrow trail whilst I was there with an amazing entry at the guesthouse."

"Lovely chilled out hotel. Great staff."

"Perfect for a overnight stop on our way down to Penzance, Roof was excellent as was the bed . A little noise from the busy main road but certainly not a problem. We would definitely stay here again and also dog friendly. Perfect!"

"Great staff, friendly and attentive. Amazing food, real ale, extensive wine list. Reminiscent of how hotels used to be before corporate takeovers"

"Very nice place to stay at"
