"Lovely peaceful site and the lodge was really clean. Some superficial marks on walls and doors but you would have to be harsh to let that affect a review. I was slightly concerned from some of the reviews I had seen but was pleasantly surprised. Great site just out of the way but I knew that when booking. Will definitely return. The only thing I found missing was half decent wifi and area to walk the dog on site but not a massive problem"

"Lovely cosy, quirky cottage. Very small but it had everything we needed. Although there was a table and chairs, we found it comfortable to have trays on our laps. Kitchen very well equipped although not much storage space. Linen and towels smelt and felt lovely. Nice hot shower.Cottage is located in an excellent area for many walks straight outside the door. Seating outside both back door and front, ideal for a morning coffee to relax and take in the views. Both gardens enclosed so our dogs were able to wander safely. Lots of supermarkets in Penrith and beautiful walks and quaint shops in Keswick.We will definitely be booking this cottage again."

"Lodge was absolutely brilliant, lots of space for a hyper cocker spaniel puppy to run around. Secure decking, hot tub perfectly placed so not in the view of anyone else. Very clean and tidy plenty of towels"

"As mentioned before there is some need for updating and the furniture is showing signs of wear as is the shower room and bathroom.Would be useful to have a vacuum cleaner in the lodge, there was an instruction booklet for one though!,along with a number of instruction books relating to old appliances,maybe best to get rid of these and just keep the booklets for the appliances which these replaced."

"We had a lovely time with our 2 older daughters and the dog. There was a storm on the Saturday and we woke to snow but the lodge was nice and warm. There was everything you need and a small shop on site if you forgot to bring anything. There was an issue with the fridge making a loud noise when we got there but we rang the out of hours number and he came straight out and sorted it for us. The only thing we would have found helpful was an electric car charger point somewhere on site as the nearest were at Reghed services."

"The lodge was amazing, well stocked and beautifully clean and furnished. The supply of nuts allowed us to continue to feed the red squirrels and enjoy their visits. It was so peaceful we will return."

"Brilliant pub and place to stay! Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Food was amazing, I had the chicken burger and a very good fry up in the morning. I would highly recommend. "
