"Let’s start with the doors front door locks a bit iffy Bathroom door Ned’s catch adjusting and also the bedroom door the cupboard in the bedroom door doesn’t close properly the open plan door is bent like a banana so that never closed properly The bathroom looks great in the photos until you get there and see that the wall panels must of been fitted by Stevie wonder The kitchen draw with the cutlery in catches on the door for the washer The cooker hood is very low I hit my head a few times (6ft 2in) When you enter the open plan front room door their is a wall lamp exactly at head height so I kept hitting that Wall panelling in the bedroom near to the headboard is hanging off The kettle is dangerous when it’s boiled steam comes out the top of the handle (not the lid) and I got burnt It’s a lovely place just very neglected and needs those silly little jobs sorting out OH AND DO NOT PARK AT THE FRONT DOOR OR YOU GET SHAT ON BY WHAT LOOKED LIKE EVERY BIRD IN A 5 MILE RADIUS ONE GOOD THING IS YOU CANNOT BEAT THE VIEW OUT THE FRONT WINDOW ITS ABSOLUTELY BRILLIANT The step/log/hazard into the grassed area of the garden is a disaster waiting to happen it needs proper steps "

"The farmhouse is furnished to a good standard and we were very comfortable. Outside the views are superb and every bedroom has an amazing view. Dog owners must note that it's a busy working sheep farm so your dog has to be on a lead at all times when outside, there are no enclosed areas. It's in a good location off the A66 close to Threlkeld and Keswick with lots of walks available right from the doorstep."

"Great little space for a stay near beautiful keswick, cottage was located a 10-15 minute drive from the town centre & gorgous walks local throughout. Clean, tidy cottage with a great shower. Only slight issue was the kitchen was very compact so would benefit from a wooden top that could be placed over the sink to give more work top space. Some clear instructions for the oven would be great too as it was difficult to use, had to google how to use and even then couldnt get it working 100%. Overall a lovely great stay & we would stay here again x"

"Great location and character. Quiet. Easy for walks to Ullswater and surrounding fells. Heating could do with improvement so that guests have control of when it is on and temperature. Could do with a bit more cleaning in places. "

"The property was beautiful and had everything we needed. We hiked Catbells, Hallin fell, and Black Moss Pot in Stonethwaite. We enjoyed a swim in Lake Ullswater-- we went to Glenridding and followed a footpath down to the water and had a little private cove all to ourselves on a hot day. We also hiked at Hadrian's wall and pursued some family history at Blenkinsopp Castle. We visited Keswick and had terrific Indian/Bangladeshi food at Saffron Kitchen. We ate breakfast for 4 days at the cottage and made two suppers while there and the kitchen had everything we needed. The only difficulty we had was communicating with the host, but I think that was more of a VRBO interface problem. VRBO was saying I had the wrong email address even though I was communicating via the VRBO app. Once I set up an account in cottages.com and reached out that way, I got a prompt response. The only thing I would suggest is to have pertinent property information posted on a paper near the kitchen table and wifi access code. It would be helpful to have general terms posted to include the check out time (since it is a bit earlier than most properties), whether we need to provide additional supplies such as toilet roll or whether those are supplied by the host, and any requirements for how to leave the property (what to do with trash and recycling, if there are other requests re: towels and bedding, etc.). We absolutely loved our stay in the beautifully updated Doddick Chase stone cottage!"
