"The house itself was beautiful and the host along with the housekeeper were very responsive. The pool was not heated as indicated in description. We enjoyed freshly baked bread the host provided during our stay. The bathroom sometimes had a sewer smell and required us to open and air the house out. They will be correcting the plumbing issue that resulted in fresh water flow from the toilet during our stay. They were very responsive in the clean up. "

"This apartment had the most surreal views! It was lovely and clean and comfortable as well. It’s a shared space but you have your own room and bathroom and the other guests were nice and didn’t disturb us at all. "Great small hotel right in the centre of Funchal. Comfortable room and nice breakfast. The Guest Relations coordinator, Carolina, is wonderful. She was so helpful, kind and patient. Listened to us and found the right tours and places for us to visit ant to eat. She is a total credit to the hotel. 🙏"

"We enjoyed our stay here, the room was clean and spacious. Some people in our group had updated rooms so they are in the process of renovating however ours was great. We had a little kitchenette, separate bedroom, living area. The staff was very accommodating, it was close to many great restaurants and the waterfront. The pool area was spacious, and great views of the area. We walked downtown which was about 40min but easy to get Uber or bus nearby."

"We liked our room. Good size and enjoyed the side sea view from the balcony. (Might have paid for an upgrade but can’t remember) ok, the decor was quite dated but it added to the character of the place. The gardens were lovely and all the staff were friendly and helpful. Breakfast wasn’t the highlight of the day but you won’t starve and the price was very reasonable compared to hotels in Funchal. Would stay again."

"I wouldn’t give this hotel a 4-star rating and as a 3-star it was adequate but too expensive. We booked a junior suite and asked for a room on a higher floor but instead were assigned a cramped room on the 1st floor with a small shower for clients with mobility impairment. After some assertive persuasion we got a room on a 2nd floor which was more spatious and bright but with 2 twin beds instead of a queen bed. We also didn’t get a parking spot even though we arrived before noon and there were empty spots. On a positive note breakfast buffet had plenty of fruits, eggs and cheese and a few versions of egg dishes. Pancakes were also tasty. The bed and pillows were very comfortable and blackout curtains were adequate."
