Great stay

Great stay - v clean and comfortable room especially the bed ( great nights sleep). Small kitchenette perfect for preparing breakfast and snacks. Only downside it is, like many places to stay in Madeira, up quite a steep hill from the old town but there is a beautiful park to stop and rest in on the way back. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a lovely stay the communication has been excellent the apartment was clean with a daily maid coming in apartment is close to the Savoy hotel and excellent restaurants 10minute walk into the centre of Funchal or you can download the bolt app there version of Uber 3.75euros one way will differnatley go back highly recommend.

Fantastic spot in Funchal! The unit was very clean, it was quiet and tranquil. The pool was such an amazing treat during hot days. The unit is very close to the city center and there are many great restaurant options nearby. We always got parking close by. Manager was proactive with communication and very helpful with any questions.

I didn't like the lodging at first, but I grew to appreciate it a lot. Finding parking was easier after I became accustomed to the Madeira driving & parking habits. I was within walking distance to Downtown Funchal and the fancy Oldtown area. I only needed to drive to my Hiking ventures out in the woods, so I didn't have to worry about parking outside of coming back from a hike. Also, the location is conveneient because of your phone dies and you dont know your way back, just follow the interstate signs for the Hospital because the Vila Toca building is only 3-blocks away.

Beautiful property! Big room with traditional feel. Lovely and clean! Amazing property manager and cleaner, both incredibly helpful and kind! Both went the extra mile! Property is 10 minute up hill but we knew this before booking and it wasn’t a problem for us personally!

Location was an easy bolt ride to the main city, or walkable if you're up for a good walk. Location was walkable to some restaurants and cafes by the main road. The AC in our room didn't work, but we did not worry or complain since the weather was nice with the windows. Looking back we should have said something because it was a very, *very* noisy street next to us. But we slept just fine.

We loved Vila Toca. It was conveniently situated and within walking distance of shops, bus stops (including the airport bus) and the town centre. Our apartment had plenty of character. The balcony on the third floor was large and lovely for al fresco dining and had good Mountain Views. We also made good use of the swimming pool. The manager responded promptly, helpfully and courteously to messages. The lady who cleaned our room was very helpful and friendly. It was excellent value for money. Highly recommended.

Predictable and fine

It was for the most part clean and as expected from the pictures. I had some small ants in the bed in the evenings which was not fun. Also the bed was extremely hard and uncomfortable. The cleaning staff kept changing how I chose to air the studio. There should be a door handle sign to tell staff to not come, I didn't need them every other day. I wish I didn't have to set the hot and cold water, a lot of water wasting as I was trying to figure out the right temperature. Pool was very uninviting.

Property was perfect. Minor ant issue towards the end of my stay, so cleaning products to sweep etc yourself would be recommended. Other than that, fantastic location! literal walking distance to anything you needed. Parking was a bit of a nightmare. Figured if you find a space with blue lines you can pay at a metre. The underground carpark for the hospital only takes cash and cost around €12 overnight. That was the only issue really. Other than that, apartment was cute, secure, aircon, powerful showers. If you struggle to walk the hill may become an issue but I rather enjoyed it to walk off all the food I’d consumed :)

We arrived at the airport and caught the no.9 bus from directly outside the airport (€6 per person) to SavoyHotel. From there the apartment was just a short 5 minute walk up the hill. Upon arrival it was easy to gain entry following the instructions and the room was immaculately clean. A very large comfortable bed, small kitchen area, tv ,tidy toilet and shower room. Double doors opened out onto a lovely balcony overlooking the pool area.The apartment has good air conditioning and is regularly cleaned. There are various restaurants nearby but you will find nice local bars and restaurants in the back streets of Funchal Pingo Doce supermarket was not far away (around 15mins on foot) at PlazaMadeira and had very fresh groceries available. A local bus from just down the hill from the apartment, Ave luis de Camões took us out to the fabulous Curral das Freiras for a few euros each way. Well worth making a reservation at in town is the Infinite Wine Bar , which you have to make a reservation to visit but offered amazing food and fun service cooked by the owner. Ideal for a romantic evening in town Lovely place to stay all round
