"If you love a peaceful country retreat then this is for you. Wildlife all around. The owner could not be more helpful. Peacocks at the back door herds of dear and flocks of amazing rheas much better than advertised. You do need a car with good clearance for the track through the forest but it's worth it as it all ads to the amazing adventure. "Again and again I run into " 'no outlets within a reasonable reach'. Why hotels dont have a power outlet or even better 2 on the provided counter space (as small as they usually are) is mystifying to me. A two space power adapter sitting on the counter space is all thats required. Instead I'm on my hands and knees under the provided counter space trying to plug in my device or worse their cord to their electric kettle! There is no excuse for this oversite and Hitlon is as guilty as any hotel."

"I had a good nights sleep which, in my view, is the ultimate test of a good hotel. The room was clean and well designed and must have been soundproofed as I didn’t hear doors slamming or noise from the neighboring rooms. The staff were friendly and efficient. The breakfast was what you’d expect from a free breakfast but there was a good selection including fruit and branded cereals as well as hot food. The area feels a little sketchy after dark but I expected that from Croydon."

"The person at the front counter was friendly and helpful, allocating a room on the 3rd floor that was perfect for our needs. We needed a good sleep, and it turned out to be the quietest room we have ever had in a hotel or motel! One caution: There are 2 places with similar names, and this one is a little further away from the Gatwick terminal (about a 5 min walk in what seemed to be a very safe area). We originally went to the wrong location, and when we tried to check in that is when we discovered that! Also, it seemed like many flight attendants were staying at this location, so I expect it might be cheaper than the one that is right beside the Gatwick Airport, North Terminal."
