"We stayed at Chris’s villa for a week earlier this month while visiting Costa Rica for the very first time. It was an inspired choice.Chris is an excellent host. Right from the get-go we knew we’d made the right decision. He reached out to us with lots of information about Villas Sol and Playa Hermosa and was very responsive both in the run-up to our trip and during it. The villa itself was a home away from home with everything we could possibly need. The bed was firm but comfortable with quality linens. The bathroom towels were large, soft and plush. The kitchen has everything you’d need - it’s fully equipped and we ate breakfast at the villa most days. We also grilled one evening! The washing machine and dryer are a real bonus too. Watching the sunset from the patio each evening was an amazing experience. The pool is a good size and we made full use of it. It was great sitting in one of the hammock chairs, beverage in hand, feet in the pool, completely relaxed and watching the sun go down.The resort was generally peaceful. We had no concerns about personal safety or security. Just keep an eye out for raccoons lol. Chris made some excellent suggestions in terms of tours and we hired José of Guanacaste Adventure Tours based on his recommendation. He also suggested some local restaurants and they were spot on!In short, you’d be a fool not to stay here. It’s an amazing villa in a great location with a fabulous host! We truly had the best of times! "
"We spent a month at this property. It was comfortable. Nice pool area with lots of shade. Great community pool as well. Easy drive to amenities in the area. The BBQ is located downstairs at the pool and was not very convenient for cooking evening meals. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again."

"1. We had an issue as soon as we got to the unit with bug infestation. The management company offered to fumigate but we decided against this because of the chemicals and health reasons. They did provide bug spray that we used on a daily basis. It was minimally effective and very bothersome.
2. We had an issue with all 3 showers. Once again, the management company was very responsive and tried to address the issue right away. Unfortunately, it took numerous visits and the problem was never really resolved. It was very intrusive having the plumbers in our unit for an extended periods of time. We were given various reasons for the issues including property water pressure issues, calcium deposits, and mechanical issues. Also, there was limited hot water because of the size of the tank. There was only 4 of us in a 3 bedroom unit but we still ran out of hot water quickly.
3. There was a washer and dryer in the unit but it was not made available to us.
4. The tile floor was extremely dirty. Our socks were filthy after walking on the tiles for a short period of time.
5. The bedspread in one of the bedrooms had numerous stains.
6. The unit had minimal dish towels.
7. The bugs were crawling out of the electrical outlets and appliances.
8. The unit was well supplied with dishes, pots, pans, etc.
9. On a positive note, the management company did provide 2 free cleanings because of all of the issues.
