"Breakfast was amazing with so much variety and cuisines. The pool is temp controlled with two pool bars. Check in and check out were hassle free. The overall stay was refreshing. One important note is that you can't find fresh brewed coffee anywhere at Ground Floor level if you wake up at dawn (there's an espresso machine in room)"

Sofitel Dubai The Palm Resort & Spa

2/10 Terrible

"Very disappointing stay at Sofitel The Palm Dubai. We arrived at 4 PM and our room was still not ready despite the advertised 3 PM check in, only gaining access around 4:30 PM. After that, it took over an hour to set up the sofa bed despite informing staff that our children were exhausted and needed to rest. The biggest frustration was the valet service. The team could not locate our car, and it took over 1 hour and 15 minutes to retrieve it. Service throughout the hotel was consistently slow and appeared disorganized. The pools and common areas were overcrowded, and overall management seemed unable to cope with the volume of guests. For a stay costing close to $1,000 per night, the experience fell far short of expectations. There are many better options in Dubai offering superior service and value for significantly less. Unfortunately, we will not be returning."

"Helpful, friendly staff and a nice location for the mall. The pool was great, the rooms adequate. Unfortunately we didn't have an iron or a hairdryer, it was very basic. There was a note to call reception if you need anything but we didn't bother, I think these should be provided in the rooms for guests. The hotel does smell really bad. I thought it was cigarette smoke through the corridors but it's non smoking, so not sure what it was. Our room smelt and our linen as well, it was pretty bad. Just a tip - one of the staff members did send us down the main road to get to the mall, but there's a new gate in the carpark that takes you there safely in 5 minutes. I booked this hotel based on the 9.6/10 rating but I can now see that these "verified" reviews may not be quite right as they're all very similar. Lesson learnt from a seasoned traveller! I would give this hotel a 6.5/10 but based on the rate we paid, we can't complain."
