It was a wonderfully unique experience to stay at this Japanese hotel with a private onsen bath in our room. I would recommend staying at least 2 nights as it is in a remote location 40 min from downtown Kanazawa. They have a free shuttle to and from Kanazawa that you need to organize with the hotel. The multi-course Japanese breakfast in a private room was a treat. The staff was very responsive and helpful despite not speaking much English. We had to make quite a few changes and they were quite...

Hanamurasaki is beautiful in almost every way. The rooms are huge and gorgeous, everything is spotlessly clean, and the location relative to the river and the rest of town is perfect. Our room had a private outdoor mineral bath. Yes, it’s very expensive, but we definitely feel like it was a worthy experience. We had omakase dinners five of our first 10 nights in Japan and our only complaint about Hanamurasaki would be that the omakase dinners were a little too hard-core Japanese for us. Most of...

What a great experience. I only wish we could stay longer. A real Japanese experience. The staff is amazingly helpful. And it’s close to the train station.

We stayed at a "sister" hotel in Osaka and found this one to be either newer or better maintained than the one in Osaka. I found this property very attractive in its natural, zen style architecture and furnishings. The Japanese "onsen" (hot springs bath) was in a natural setting surrounded by trees and rocks and offered a view of the stars while soaking in the hot springs. The staff was very helpful and friendly. The facilities were clean and felt very safe. I would strongly recommend this...

The one night stay at this Japanese onsen hotel was very pleasant. Both dinner and breakfast were delicious. Staff were very helpful and courteous.
The hotel is only 20 minutes by bullet train from Kanazawa train station. Hotel provided free shuttle pick up from the Kaga Onsen train station.

We stayed two nights in Kanazawa and the hotel was great in every way. Walking distance from the train station and close to many tourist areas. The hotel was extremely clean and the staff was very friendly and professional. If you’re looking for an affordable hotel near the train station, I’d suggest staying here. We will be back…

A truly unique and calm stay. The staff and amenities were as advertised and they have an amazing buffet breakfast that you must try. My room was clean and I had my own bathtub with termal water in my room.
Its in a great location with the museum of glass very close by!
I'll be staying here again.
Thank you for the wonderful experience.

This is the most beautiful ryokan we have ever stayed at. The food was delicious with a great variety and the staff explained the menu. The owner came to greet us at dinner and as we were leaving, it was great to meet her. The rooms were amazing and well put together with so many thoughtful touches. I really enjoyed the private garden and bath each morning. The futons were the most comfortable futons that I’ve had. The staff also took great care to help us ship our luggage to our next stay. Kind and welcoming staff showed us to our rooms and helped with shoes and umbrellas while it was raining, and provided hot tea in the room every day. Rooms are large and beautiful and perfectly maintained. The location is a fairly short walk to kanazawa’s gardens and castle, but the nearby restaurants are few. (We did not try the Ryokan’s breakfast or dinner because of special dietary restrictions.)

This is a beautiful Ryokan! Best experience in Japan. The water in the Onsen is composed of minerals that help the skin. There is also a massage chair foot massage device. Highly recommended! The Ryokan gives you the feeling of being back in Old Japan with a 5 star service.
