「Room not what we were expecting as it wasn’t a cabin but a very damp smelling old and worn lodge in a row of other lodges which were all connected together. However after paying an upgrade on our booking we were allocated a large cabin near the lake」

「I've been to budget hotels that seem to have better housekeeping. Don't go to this hotel when the weather is hot. We were given a room on the 4th (top) floor and NO air conditioning. Reception was very kind and got us an extra fan but the plug points were on the opposite side of the room. The hotel was lovely but needs to be bought up to 21st century, especially as the weather seems to be getting hotter.」

「Friendly staff and welcoming however only downside was the noise from the corridor when other guests were shutting doors and walking up and down. Doors slammed and awoke me in a panic a few times as well hearing people outside very clearly. Maybe the door seals need looking at?」

「Just what you expect from a Crowne Plaza. Set literally 2 minutes from the nightly hotspots but in a quiet corner. No noise, parking under the hotel is a little tight so if you have a big car it’s a squeeze」

「Whilst decor is a little dated the room was spacious and clean as was the bathroom. It was nice to have a decent sized bathroom! We had an exec double as we had our daughter with us and there was plenty of room for us all. Breakfast was excellent quality and good choice - we ate in The Place. All the staff were excellent and very helpful. We would definitely use again as the location was great for the town and also getting out and about.」

「It seems that this hotel does not have single rooms. Even if one person stays alone, they are charged for a double room, which is £5 more than the price for two people sharing. When we were shown our room, we were repeatedly given rooms with very poor conditions — one room had a view of an ugly roof, another only looked out onto scaffolding, and another was poorly lit and smelled of mold. When I asked to change to another room of the same grade with a proper view outside the window, I was...

「I Should have booked a bigger room because the ‘cosy double’ was tiny. I could hardly walk around the bed and it had a tv shelf which was sticking out too far. We made do for 2 nights but our room on the side was very noisy so we didn’t sleep well. The radiator was very dusty too. Staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast wasn’t the greatest quality food but enough to set you up for the day.」

「They forgot for housekeeping. When I check out, I asked to keep my luggage, but they did not store, they just left at reception desk where i put as it is. No one took care, and I was lucky it was not stolen. Terrible and unbelievable.」
