A very nice and quiet hotel located at the side of the Lake Shikotsu-ko, you can have a morning walk along side of the Lake.
Staffs are very polite, and food is good. They have free coffee and tea room, that you can enjoy it any time during your stay.
They have onsen at the hotel is nice, if you like to spend more, you can have the private onsen in your room.
However, the price is a bit expansive to me.
English speaking friendly staff, great traditional facitilies, private, peaceful hotel. The room was tidy but the bed was hard.
Transportation: we took local bus both ways because there was limited number of seating on the free shuttle bus. Local bus also has strict time schedule (convenient) but doesn't run often- so make sure you check when you plan! I found leaving from Chitose JR subway line (or Chitose airport- if you are coming directly from the airport) is more convenient than taking from a random subway station, since the station has a mall just in case you miss the bus then you can spend time there. FYI the bus ride was approximately 50 mins.
Food: awesome traditional Japanese food.
Surroundings: we didn't have time to enjoy the nature by taking walks around the lake but it was beautiful. If you have a chance, take a stroll around the place.
Overall my family was satisfied with the stay.
Beautiful setting within walking distance to the lake and tourist information. Both public and private onsens are very good. The public onsen is of very high standard including a well landscaped outdoor onsen. Food is nice and staff are highly attentive though some evening staff struggle with english. But they try their best to accomodate our requests. There is lovely drip coffee at the lounge for guests. We suggest the hotel considers setting up free Wifi for guests. There is no wifi at all though on request we can use the computer at reception.
From check in to check out, everything is so smooth and impressive. We love the Japanese style room with the private onsen. Food is excellent. Will certainly go back.T
