The COVID-19 outbreak has affected how the world works in all sorts of ways, including how we're able to travel safely. These tips will help you understand these new challenges and get you ready for your journey to Central:

• Understand the restrictions and rules in both your origin and destination. It may not be possible to travel depending on local circumstances, so be sure to check government advisories before booking.
• Requirements state that you must wear a face mask throughout your travel experience, including at screening checkpoints. You should be prepared to adjust your mask to verify your identity when asked by a TSA officer.
• Avoid handing your boarding pass (paper or electronic) directly to a TSA officer. Rather, you should position the pass on the reader and then hold it up so the agent can inspect it.
• TSA now allows passengers to take one container of hand sanitizer, up to 12 oz (350 ml) in size, in carry-on baggage. This will have to be removed from your bag at the X-ray machine for scanning.
• To reduce handling during screening, place items such as your phone, coins and keys into your carry-on instead of the bins.
• Transport your food items in a clear plastic bag and also place them in a screening bin. Separating food from your carry-on means it's less likely a TSA agent will need to touch and open your bag for inspection.
