"Adorable! The inn and property was so quaint. The staff were very friendly and accommodating. We had to leave early in the morning and they offered to have coffee ready earlier for us. It was not necessary, but the gesture was above and beyond and appreciated."

"The beauty and size of the property was wonderful. It was private except a stretch of riverfront where we never saw anyone except for a friendly dog jumping in for a swim and loud geeese cruising down the river. I especially liked the large horrible on the covered patio. I forgot my swimsuit but that didn't matter."

"Great location right outside of Luray for an affordable price. Very quiet and easy to check in. We called and got our door code and we were in earlier than our check-in time. The rooms had clearly been remodeled recently with updated flooring, paint, furniture, etc. The sheets and towels were lacking though. It doesn't seem like they upgraded the towels since they upgraded the rooms. Very thin, very small. The door that connected to another room had a very wobbly doorknob which made it feel unsafe between rooms, but I wasn't overly concerned. Liked that there was a mini fridge with a freezer, microwave, and small single coffee machine. We had the 2 bedroom suite at the very end, so we had plenty of space for the 4 of us. We were only there one night so we didn't use anything else on the property, but it seemed ok and better than the hotels we passed in the area!"

"We cannot recommend the Great Escape enough! Don and Lina are wonderful hosts who provided a clean, comfortable, and calm experience. The backyard was perfect for our pups to run around in, and the hot tub was fantastic after long days hiking in the beautiful mountains. The beds are super comfy and we always woke up refreshed. If you’re considering booking the Great Escape - do it. We can’t wait to come back! "

"The stay was okay overall, the property is beautiful and has great views. My only notes were on cleanliness and other people showing up without a warning or notice.There were various bugs and spiders webs in the shower. Any cabin is expected to have bugs, understandable. The shower curtain also smelt like urine.. we didn’t use the shower anymore due to this. My uncomfortable experience stems from both mornings individuals were present on the property without any warning. The notes say lawn service is on specific days, but we did not stay on these time frames. The first morning waking up I wanted to utilize the hot tub, but there was a man working on piping outside. We had no warning, just woke up to a random man working. We didn’t use the hot tub due to being uncomfortable. The second morning a man and a women were on the property adjusting things. We didn’t have to check out until 11am, so we were shocked again that we did not have privacy or any warning that people would be present the same time. We book for privacy and amenities. We didn’t get to enjoy either during this stay."
