The COVID-19 pandemic has ushered in significant changes to the way we travel. If you're planning an escape to Central Utah, the following tips will help you navigate this new traveling reality:

• Find out if any travel restrictions apply to your origin and destination before booking your flight. Also check if there are any special conditions you'll have to follow on arrival, such as taking a COVID-19 test.
• Wear a face mask during airport screening. A TSA officer will require you to lower your mask temporarily for identification purposes.
• Do not hand your boarding pass directly to a TSA employee. Instead, position your pass on the reader and then hold it up so the agent can inspect it.
• One container of liquid hand sanitizer is now permitted in your carry-on baggage. It must not be larger than 12 oz (350 ml), and you'll need to remove it from your bag at the X-ray machine for scanning.
• To reduce handling during the screening process, put items such as your phone, coins and keys into your carry-on rather than into the bins.
• Separate any food you have for X-ray screening. Placing it in a clear plastic bag and into a bin reduces the need for a TSA employee to touch and inspect your belongings.
