「A great inn, in a good location. Staff were very friendly and the evening meal was excellent. The room was really nice with plenty of space, warm, clean and well equipped. Some noise carried through from other rooms but this wasn’t too much of a problem for our stay. Breakfast was ok but the full English breakfast fell a bit short of expectations. Overall would definitely recommend to stay at the Black Swan.」

「Fantastic location next to the cathedral with grounds and parking. It's a beautiful very old building but some of the decor is tired. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a set menu served in two parts, first part is continental style which was lovely, the second part was more traditional English breakfast which had real potential however it was spoiled as the sausage was overcooked and dry, but the bacon was murdered and just shattered as it was extremely overdone, inedible...

「The staff were excellent especially the young man who checked us in, served dinner and served at the bar. I didn’t sleep much at all the first night because of the very hard mattress but after I asked if we could have an extra duvet on the bed then the second night I slept much better. Breakfast was plentiful but the service was very slow. We had dinner here both evenings and it was ok but again the service was very slow. We would stay here again.」
