The Beach Cottages

"The property is in a great location, walkable to many of Pacific Beach beaches, pier, shops and restaurants. It's definitely an older property, so don't expect a modern hotel. It does have A/C, which is a big plus, since it was quite hot when we were there. We asked for beach towels, and instead of giving us a couple, they pointed us to a store that had $20 towels. For the amount paid, and since it's on the beach, I'd have expected that they would check-out a couple towels to us (then they said the white towels in the room must stay in the room). We were in the secondary building, which has a deck outside each room, but the view is to the back of a restaurant and trash cans, so not the most scenic."

"Clean and new. Huge unusual layout made finding way between room and lobby a challenge. Neighborhood nearby is not the best or is very busy for traffic."
Ocean Beach Hotel

"The property is adjacent to the beach, which is always a plus. Sebastian's one man drum band across the street was a nice touch. A secure courtyard allowed us to met our "neighbors". Management has a couple of friendly cats, another plus as a fellow cat person. One recommendation I have for the owners is to provide a coffee maker is each room. I need hot water in the morning, and a coffee maker (or microwave oven) would be perfect. Restaurants, bars, and live music venues within walking distance makes this hotel a great location. Too bad about being at the departure end of SD airport, but fortunately it's quiet at night. I look forward to another visit."
Hyatt Regency Mission Bay Spa and Marina

"Overall, our stay was very good! The staff was friendly, and there were plenty of things to do, especially for families with kids. They have free marshmallow bonfires, complimentary shuttles to the sea world, ping-pong, movie nights, and other fun kids’ activities. The breakfast was okay, but overall, we really enjoyed our stay. This is definitely a very kid-friendly environment, and I would recommend it to families looking for a fun and welcoming place to stay."
