"The room itself was a refreshing upgraded modernly convenient space with apple work/ living space separate from the bed area. There were two separate desk areas with ample outlets to plug in that all included USB and USBC plugs in every outlet. There was various lighting for different areas for any need and even mirrors that light up in the bathroom and a separate mirror and makeup area with its own counterspace and chair. The kitchenette was awesome and in a separate room entirely with a cooktop sink fridge microwave and table to done at. Really put those corporate chain hotels to shame with the updated technology friendly and spacious amenities. Almost forgot to mention the very new 65 inch flat screen tv icing on the cake really. Well done friendly staff clean towels and linens I will be absolutelu be staying here again "

"Balcony had ok ocean view. Kitchen was barely functional. Fridge was too small and no counter space. Bathroom was tiny and needs help - the fan is super loud and TV in bedroom doesn’t pivot so not really viewable from bed. Train and traffic were noisy. You can’t access beach without driving a short distance. "

"The one reason to stay here is it is walkable to the Catalina island boat landing if you are planning a day trip there (which is why I rated it a 2 rather than a 1) The hotel itself is very run down and poorly maintained. For example, the elevator inspection is expired, the breakfast is mostly stale and the walls in the shower were coming apart. "

"My room and bathroom were clean, and there was ample hot water available. The pool was comfortably warm, given that it was heated to 80 degrees. The only area for improvement was the breakfast. The scrambled eggs were overrun with water, the turkey sausage was somewhat chewy, and the potatoes lacked freshness. Additionally, pastries were not offered, and the bread and bagels had visible mold. The selection of cereals was also limited. Due to the quality of the food, I chose to dine at RJ Cafe nearby."
