The Space:

Wairua is designed for relaxed, high-end living, with every main space oriented toward the view. From morning light through to evening sunsets, the outlook is a constant presence throughout the home.



The main living level opens into a generous, light-filled living and dining area with high ceilings and a strong sense of openness. Large doors connect the interior to the outdoor entertaining areas, allowing the home to feel open to the sea, fresh air, and surrounding landscape. The kitchen is fully equipped and well suited to shared cooking, long lunches, and easy evenings at home. Two gas fires add warmth and comfort during cooler months, making the space inviting year-round.



A second lounge provides a quieter retreat within the home, giving guests flexibility to spread out and enjoy different spaces at the same time. This layout works well for families, couples travelling together, or groups wanting both shared living and private downtime.



The main bedroom is positioned on the primary living level and set slightly apart for privacy. Upstairs, two further bedrooms, a full bathroom, and an additional lounge create a distinct upper-level zone with elevated sea views, offering separation without feeling disconnected.



Throughout the home, the emphasis is on comfort, light, and connection to the setting, with spaces that feel calm, generous, and considered rather than formal.

Check-in is from 2:00 pm and check-out is by 10:30 am. Early check-in or late check-out may be arranged for a fee, depending on bookings before and after your stay.



Please note that this is a cliff-top property with unfenced frontage. Young children must be closely supervised at all times.



The Neighborhood:

Wairua by Stay Waiheke sits above Onetangi Beach, a long sweep of white sand known for swimming, gentle walks, and relaxed beachfront dining. This area of the island is popular for its open feel, wide beach, and easy access to both nature and food and wine experiences.



Along the beachfront, Ki Māha and Three Seven Two are well regarded for long lunches, sunset dinners, and cocktails by the water. Obsidian Vineyard is close by for boutique wine tastings, while Casita Miro offers Mediterranean-inspired dining in a vineyard setting.



The home is also well placed for exploring further afield, with Stonyridge Vineyard, Tantalus Estate, and Wild on Waiheke all within easy reach. For a more casual afternoon or evening, The Heke is a popular option for food, drinks, and a relaxed garden setting.

Getting Around:

Wairua is well positioned for exploring the island. Onetangi Beach and its cafés are a short drive away, with Ostend, Oneroa Village, and both ferry terminals easily reached by car.



Regular bus services run from Onetangi, stopping near major wineries including Tantalus, Stonyridge, Wild on Waiheke, and The Heke, before continuing through Oneroa and on to the Matiatia passenger ferry. Taxis and rental vehicles are available, although taxis can be expensive during peak periods. There is easy parking available at the property.
