I knew I wanted to snowboard at Lotte Arai Resort but I read that it was in a very small town and basically only the resort buildings so i picked this spot because they offered a free shuttle to the nearby mountains. (Not Lotte though its a 40 minute drive and I had to get a separate bus. It was very easy though and the owner was able to help me figure it all out. Lovely hotel short walk from Nagano station. Staff were incredibly helpful. Easy walk from hotel to the main area for restaurants and shops.

Beautiful 5-star hotel with excellent staff and comfortable rooms. The breakfast buffet was outstanding--definitely worth the money! Location is perfect--right outside of Nagano station (5 mins from train to hotel lobby). I'll stay here again for sure!

The Dormy Inn in Nagano was an excellent value! The location is first rate - less than 10 minutes walking from Nagano Station. The Inn has wonderful amenities - an indoor/outdoor onsen. Excellent location and helpful, courteous staff.

An unforgettable experience with my son who is 9 we enjoyed the private onsen with 2 separate baths we bathed under the stars which was perfect. The staff was incredibly accommodating attentive and so SWEET , the Japanese chocolate covered pecans are dreamy definitely grab a box or 2!

The rooms are small by the American standards. Breakfast is ¥1600/person. Easy access to JR station.

Located on the Onsen road, with access to two public baths outside of the hotel, two very well equipped Onsen within the hotel, and the option to reserve a private Onsen as well. Not listed on when booking, but the hotel picked us up from the train station, as well as runs a free shuttle once every morning (940am) to the monkey park. Very enjoyable experience with polite staff in kimono. If one would like to immerse themselves in Japanese tradition with tatami floors, sleeping on futon, and taking a traditional bath (onsen)/dress in yukata provided by the hotel, then this is the hotel for you.

This traditional ryotan was wonderful. It was a blend of traditional Japanese with modern updates. We booked a suite that had western beds and a private onsen. Our sons shared a smaller room with tatami mats. We selected the traditional dinner and breakfast which were wonderful experiences.
