「We found the property clean but lacking, certainly not "Superb". The decor was sparse e.g. bare light bulbs.

Bathroom: no mirror, no towel rails, only one hand towel in the property for three.
Kitchen: Two sets of knives & forks for three, no large glasses or wine glasses, no fire blanket/extinguisher, no downstairs smoke alarm I could spot.
Small bedroom: no hanging space, one plug socket (used by lamp), only one half of a pair of curtains.

Everything you need for a stay, there was fresh milk, juice, bread,butter., jam in the fridge ready for breakfast. Toaster and microwave in the room too. Plus tea and coffee 」
「Another hotel room that looks like it hasn't changed since the 50's. Small, cramped and extremely dated, I thought my money would have provided something nicer.」
「Handy location to Durham and countryside. Clean cozy and friendly clear communications. Nice touch to have some supplies available on arrival. Felt unclear where to park as other locals parked up but I’m sure it would have been clear should I have asked.」
「Had a very comfortable stay. Beds really comfy. Staff really good especially Fiona she was very helpful. One little thing shower was too cold and also could do with recycling bins . It was lovely and clean . Have stayed before and would definitely stay again. Durham a lovely city. 」

In addition, the bed had a very comfortable mattress, the rooms had lovely views, the location was great just off the A1. We had a drink on the terrace in the sunshine and enjoyed everything this hotel had to offer. Recommend!」
「Absolutely loved our stay at 40 Winks, the room was so beautiful with a gorgeous view of the Cathedral. It felt romantic, relaxing and special. Only a 5-10 minute walk to get to the main attractions and lots of food options. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, I would absolutely recommend this property to anyone staying in Durham. 」
