La Mata is a great mellow town to make your home base with great restaurants and a couple markets right down the boardwalk. It’s not super fancy, so don’t expect the four seasons, but it’s a great place to stay, highly recommend. 」

「A nice clean hotel with very good amenities on the doorstep as the hotel is located in a commercial shopping centre. A little bit away from the coast if you are looking for the beach but once you get familiar with the local buses Alicante and Santa Pola are within a short ride away. Rooms are bright & modern and the rooftop pool is relatively quiet with plenty of sunbeds available. Breakfast is varied with a wide range of local dishes but I would suggest they offer a fried egg/omelette option...
