Stayed in the glamping tent with my family of four (including a 5 & 9 yr old). Such a wonderful spot - tent was comfy w/ a dedicated toilet/sink room in a separate adjacent little building. Had a wonderful fire pit which the staff lit for us in the evening at the time we requested (on our was back from dinner we texted them from their very helpful app). Very kind staff!

This ryokan is the best location in Matsumoto! Along with being beautiful and super clean, you literally walk out the front door and you’re on an idyllic street with restaurants and shops. It’s also walkable from the train station, and a short walk to the castle. If you’re looking for a traditional ryokan, this is it! The host also speaks great English and is very helpful if you need anything.

The room was spotless and comfortable. The staff was amazing! Very. Courteous and helpful the moment you arrive. The station is a within walking distance which is helpful if in a rush.

Staff are very attentive. Facility great for relaxation. Very quiet and serene environment. Foods superb! Get the half board. You won’t regret!

Excellent meals and clean, comfortable room

Very nice family-run ryokan that's on its fourth generation. Public transit won't get you there easily- but you don't have to worry- you can call ahead and they will pick you up Matsumoto station (at 3:30 or 5:30 pm.) They will also drive you out in the morning so you can catch public transit for your sightseeing. Great food, will make you want to come back for dinner! Lovely hotel short walk from Nagano station. Staff were incredibly helpful. Easy walk from hotel to the main area for restaurants and shops.

Beautiful 5-star hotel with excellent staff and comfortable rooms. The breakfast buffet was outstanding--definitely worth the money! Location is perfect--right outside of Nagano station (5 mins from train to hotel lobby). I'll stay here again for sure!

The Dormy Inn in Nagano was an excellent value! The location is first rate - less than 10 minutes walking from Nagano Station. The Inn has wonderful amenities - an indoor/outdoor onsen. After onsen free ice cream snacks. A very tasty breakfast including Japanese and western cuisine - the quality and variety was great and the price was reasonable. The room was clean and quiet. The hotel was close to the Matsumoto station. The breakfast was super delicious.

This stop in our trip was a favorite, small quaint city. Lots to do, could walk everywhere, no problem. will definitely go back to Matsumoto. The hotel was centeralized, clean, friendly, just what a traveler looks for at day's end.

This was our first stay in a traditional Japanese ryoken and we had a great stay. The welcome was fantastic with a tour round the hotel and tea served in our room. We also enjoyed the spa and the Japanese breakfast.

The location is a bit off-track, but the area is nice and worth a detour if you have a car. The building itself is ordinary but the room is very spacious and comfortable, with some view to the mountains and valley, and some to the next buildings. The onsen is nice though not particular. Service is very attentive and helpful. But by far the best part was the dinner (and breakfast), which was Michelin-star level, multi-course beautiful and tasty dishes.
