"I booked the Knot for my brother and my mom on their trip to Japan. Their trip was broken into three parts - I booked the Knot for their initial stay and at the end of their Japan tour. On the initial stay - they had rave reviews. The food, stay, etc. exceeded their expectations. However, the bathroom in the room has a step and this was at times challenging for my mom who has mobility issues. Other than that, they loved their stay. The issue was their last leg of the trip. When they returned to the hotel they had a new room. My mom described this room as a makeshift closet - dusty, dirty, small and noisy. It is interesting because I paid a greater amount for this night as it landed on a weekend but it made their overall experience terrible and they left feeling they would never go back again. It is really unfortunate because I think it depends on what room you get and clearly that’s a Wild card. "

"The a/c did not work well enough, we opened our window to try to cool it off and a rat got in and started to make a home in my suitcase. The staff is great, they moved us to another (higher) room and gave us a discount on that night. Beds are pretty hard, but fun that they provide sleep shirts. The shower pressure is really good and they provide quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash, and lotions. The She Wolf Diner is also really good."

"Exceeded expectations -- location was perfect and staff members very polite and helpful! Breakfast was so delicious with great selection. The property was also helpful with transferring our luggages to our next destination seamlessly. Will definitely stay here again when we come back to Japan :)"

"Clean rooms with amazing views if you can get high floor. Would definitely recommend asking for room facing away from shinjuku train station as the noise is quite loud, even on high floor (stayed on 28). Soak-in tub and beds are great!"

"We were greeted so nicely upon arrival and every time after that that we would come into contact with any staff at the in the lobby Very professional and helpful and friendly. Absolute best location for this hotel. Everything is so close by. You walk out and everything you need is there"

"A great place to stay if you want to avoid the circus atmosphere at Shinjuku's Kabuchiko, which is only 20 minutes away walking. Also much more affordable than the big Hilton and Hyatt hotels nearby. The room was clean and the staff were very nice. The breakfast at the Hearth restaurant is excellent and convenient. Overall, it's a fantastic hotel for the price. "

"The pool access is a paid service and it was not in booking details. The hotel room was cleaned every 3 days which I do appreciate although the rooms can be bigger for the pricing we were paying for. On days when room cleaning service is not performed you still get clean towels. Laundry access only have 6 washers and dryers and honestly it was pretty expensive as they weren’t huge washers. Staff were friendly and they offer luggage storage before check in and after but one thing I didn’t like was when they charged for making domestic phone calls and did not write that explicitly. The staff can be more engaging and help with bookings during our stay as we wanted to book oil massages and made us call ourselves even though there was a language barrier. The other hotels we stay at performed these practices in which we believe are actions of above and beyond. "
