The Royal Park Hotel Kyoto Sanjo

10/10 Excellent

"Our one complaint was finding a press on nail on the carpet, one day but otherwise impeccable stay, great location, awesome staff, comfy beds and great water pressure. Made our stay in Kyoto so comfortable. Would recommend"

Hotel Forza Kyoto Shijo Kawaramachi

8/10 Good

"Nice place. It's clean, and the staff were friendly when I spoke to them. The breakfast buffet was mostly fine, although the scrambled eggs were pretty bad. I also think they could stand to have more washing machines. The three that were working during my stay were literally always full, so it was hard to find an opening to do laundry if you needed to. There's a lot of shops and restaurants nearby, and Gion, Ponto-cho, and a couple other tourist attractions are in easy walking distance. Other stuff is a bit of a hike, but not too bad."

Mitsui Garden Hotel Kyoto Sanjo PREMIER

10/10 Excellent

"A truly fantastic stay here. Location is perfect and the staff are so helpful. We arrived well before check in time with lots of luggage and we were so kindly granted early access to our rooms (many hotels in Japan did not do this - even if the room was ready). Wonderful onsen, comfortable beds and plenty of lovely touches throughout the hotel. There is even a self-serve laundry option, so cleaning clothes whilst doing a long trip is less expensive. Highly recommend!"

Hotel Granvia Kyoto

10/10 Excellent

"This hotel's location is very convenient. Train station, shopping, restaurants, Kyoto tower, Airport Limousine service are all within walking distance. There are multiple things to do at night around the train station and hotel. Light shows, water light shows, illuminated projections, and displays all setup for photo opportunities. There are skywalks, massive escalators, and walkways everywhere. I spent 3 nights here and still did not see everything. With that said, because of the way the hotel is designed, the rooms can be very far from the elevators, but you can see some of the displays as you walk to your room. I am definitely staying here again. The staff are very courteous and attentive. They even left me a message asking if I needed anything because I left the "Do not disturb" sign out. Who does that these days? They also give you a paper every morning in English or Japanese. Now that's what I call service. We had no issues understanding any of the staff. Almost every spoke English. I can't say enough about how courteous and attentive they all are."
