Hyatt Place Kyoto

10/10 Excellent

This is a modern hotel in a great location, located on top of a subway station only 4 stops without transfer from Kyoto Station. The subway and bus options are very convenient. There are many restaurants and cafes within walking distance and of course several Seven's and a nice grocery store nearby. The beds are comfortably and the Nespresso machines were great. Check-in was easy and the staff is extremely helpful and courteous. Special gratitude goes to the staff and management, who...

Hotel Boston Plaza Kusatsu

Kusatsu

10/10 Excellent

The Boston Hotel is literally steps just outside the JR Kusatsu train station. If traveling by train, the convenience really can't be beat. The room was very clean and well maintained, though small as with many Japanese rooms. Only 2 people can fit so we had 2 rooms for a family of 4 and it worked great. There were slippers and a sleeping gown to freely use and the selection of toiletries was surprisingly robust. The service was exceptional as we had no trouble speaking with the lobby...

This was a beautiful ryokan to stay. The staff are very helpful to english speaking visitors and can accommodate very well. This ryokan offers you to dine in an intimate setting so you're in a separate room with your guests/partner. Other ryokans have you sit in a restaurant style setting so you're in a large room with open tables. Our waitress and maid was super helpful and very caring for us while we stayed. The ryokan has several onsen locations in the building, they rotate one days the men...

Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei

Sakyo Ward

10/10 Excellent

I cannot say enough good things about the Hotel Okura Kyoto Okazaki Bettei. First, it was luxurious, new, clean, well staffed and convenient to all of Kyoto sightseeing. Second, the intimate luxury accomodations were neither too small or too large. We got to know all personnel by name. Management was very chill and accommodated our every request. Third, our room's amenities were top notch and no detail was overlooked. We particularly enjoyed the confortable bedding and oversized TV with Netflix...
