The Kaiser Library is located just behind the Garden of Dreams in the Thamel district of Kathmandu. You access it via a driveway located just past the garden entrance. I can only describe this incredible place as a living Wes Anderson tribute to Orientalism. Signing into the log book is like going back into time complete with suits of armor, skulls in cases, and tomes such as "Big Game Hunting in the Himalayas" and "Recent Happenings in Persia". Desks lie surrounded with mismatched chairs and pictures of turn of the century hunting expeditions. As a bibliophile and archaeology grad, this place was heaven. I have travelled around the world, but this might have been one of my favorite sites to experience ever. Seriously. Photo is my own. Not for use commercially. #architecture
