「Very close from the station, nice river view and clean room.」

「We used the Hare & hounds as a stopover on our way home but will give serious consideration to returning to explore the Lakes from there」

「Exceptional stay! Beautiful breakfast, great location and very clean! Would highly recommend.」

「Nice, Big Room! Beautiful Decorated House. Helpful and Friendly staff.」

「Lovely room. We booked the dog friendly room and we had dog bowls, and a doggy treat pack including toy, treats & poo bags. Nice little touch! Great food as always, lovely full English breakfast. Friendly helpful staff. Would definitely recommend.」

「Highly recommended. Comfortable hotel. Fine breakfast. Helpful staffs. Excellent location near the motor way. Has a shop (drink, food, etc), a cafeteria and a petrol station attached in a walking distance.

「The reason I haven’t scored 5 is that Expedia sold us a room that had issues with noise / cooking smells as it’s above the kitchen and is noisey and smelly when the staff are cooking. We stayed in a room named Helvellyn and Expedia didn’t state any issues with any rooms. If we had booked direct with the queens head it details the room helvellyn as having issues with noise etc due to it’s proximity to the kitchen. I think Expedia have been misleading not detailing the facts about that particular...

「The staff were fantastic and despite being warned about building work we needn’t have worried. The food was good both for dinner and breakfast. The spa was especially nice. We were warned it would get busy by the very helpful member of staff but even when busy it was ok. We had a really lovely little break with great views of the lake. All in all worth every penny. Thank you for a wonderful time.」

「Very difficult access for parking」
