Great place for a stay in the Lakes Everything at the Queens Head is done to a high standard.The staff were friendly and helpful, food and room were great. Would highly recommend a stay.

Lovely country Inn

A lovely country Inn serving great food. Our double room was spacious and very comfortable. There are circular walks directly from the hotel that we sadly didn’t have time to try out, but this only serves as a good reason to come again!

Great character filled accommodation set within Natural terrain, yet within reach of civilisation. Well looked after property, excellent service from everyone - from Reception to Bar to Restaurant to breakfast. If you want to escape the daily chores into a comfortable accommodation set in a natural location then this is it!

One of the best.

We enjoyed overnight stay clean and service excellent, best breakfast l have had for a while . The fresh danish was still warm from the oven. Dinner was excellent too.

Overnight stay

Travelled up to Windermere for a Wedding and booked a room for an overnight stay. Arrived at the hotel and breezed through check in and were taken to our room by a friendly member of staff. The room (Skiddaw) was excellent and clean. Had dinner in the restaurant and the food was really good too. Had a great nights sleep and a hearty breakfast in the morning. Perfect place to stay and would recommend.

Beautiful place, perfect with a couple of tweaks

Beautiful location. Lovely room, clean, modern but still traditional. Staff all extremely friendly and very helpful. Room was very hot and the mini fridge was rather loud but they’re not even complaints, just notes. Air con and a proper fridge and would be absolutely perfect.

My wife and I enjoyed a two night b and b stay at this lovely hotel with dinner on the first night. Although parts of the building are Elizabethan the inside decor is quite modern with extensive use of wood. The dining area around the bar is very attractive. The food was good and our waiter was very pleasant. A very good breakfast was enjoyed at a lovely table in the bar area. Our bedroom was lovely and the en suite was a wet room which was great. For some reason it was a little bit too warm despite a cooling fan but steps are in place to sort this out. Altogether a very pleasant stay in beautiful surroundings and we look forward to returning sometime soon.

Loved out stay at this hotel and restaurant on our final day in the Lakes. We stayed in Scafell Pike with the only negative being the room was very hot (we stayed in late Aug). We would definitely stay there again.
