"We had a wonderful time at this ryokan. We chose this inn specifically for its remote location and traditional atmosphere and were not disappointed. The hotel, outdoor onsen, and woodsy surroundings were all excellent. The building is old and reminded me of the railroad lodges of the western United States: creaky old doors and floors, metal keys, and rotary dial phones. "Old Showa style minimalistic ryokan, but the room for 5 was spacepus (double room) and the tatami beds and beddings arw comfortable. Self-service to put the futon (which was no problem for us). Power plugs and Wifi were abundant. We were fine with steps but for eldery or disabled it may be a challenge. The hot spring bath was nice.
