You can walk everywhere from here, and you have a front row seat to any events in the square - it's literally right across the street. Parking in Salem is at a premium, and we are driving a crew cab truck to make it even worse, but Matt went WELL above and beyond to make sure we got a great spot. 「Immaculate property and very nice staff especially Jacqueline in housekeeping and the friendly woman in the Breakfast Room whose name I am sorry I have forgotten; but always had a happy greeting for me everyday at 6 am! The Breakfast Room was always spotless and well-stocked. She does a first-class job!」
「The staff at The Hotel Salem are so friendly and helpful. If you want to be right in the middle of Essex Street, this is the spot. The room was very comfortable and clean. Plus you have two great eating spots right on property, The Counter and The Roof. Nothing beats the views from the roof and the food and drinks are delicious. Only drawback is that parking is a bit of a walk because you are staying is a historic part of town. My favorite place to stay in Salem.」

There is quite a bit of street noise, but it's at a busy intersection so what can you really do.
The wifi is a tad slow, at least on the 3rd floor. Otherwise, lovely.」
