"The Tanya was really a great stay. The Onsen water is wonderful; the staff is great, as well as the food. It is as clean as it can be considering its age and number of visitors. I will go back again."

"This is an older place so if you are looking for sparkling accommodation maybe not here. If you want a more traditional Japanese hotel this is a good choice. Great free breakfast. Private onsen by reservation. Free beer and noodles along with other snacks each evening from 4-6. Larger room than many Japanese hotels. The staff is fantastic. Free shuttle to the train station. Be aware if you are walking with luggage there is a major hill to climb. Call the hotel and they will send a car anytime...
