I stayed here twice. Both times highly satisfactory. Staff was very friendly and accommodatding. The rooms and garden area are in excellent upkeep and pleasant to hang out in hammocks or seating arrangements. The owners are very kind people, who even helped me organize a free ride back to the airport upon my departure (a relative happened to also take a flight off the island). I highly recommend this establishment.

We loved everything about Lava House. The rooms were very clean, comfortable, and spacious. The owners were incredibly welcoming and great hosts. The breakfasts were also wonderful. Location was excellent for doing all the activities the island has to offer and the hotel can help arrange and make recommendations. Would highly recommend to anyone!

This is a nice but very BASIC hotel. Not much for room amenities but they keep the place clean. The grounds are very well kept. Breakfast also is very basic. There was a very friendly dog.

Amazing place. Really clean and quiet. I loved everything, including the puppy that lives there! Would definitely come back. The main avenue was really close to Lava House, so you can come and go as you please and it just takes a couple minutes to reach the main bay. Overall I had a great experience with this place.

This is a very basic hotel. Our first night was very noisy from traffic but they were kind enough to move us down a room and it was much better. Not much for amenities. Very basic breakfast. Overall clean and tidy. Staff very nice.

This is a lovely no frills property. No fridge, no microwave, but comfortable beds, clean, nice open restaurant for breakfast or lounging. I enjoyed playing fetch with Lava the Boston terrier dog. Isabela the owner was lovely. Breakfast was simple but fresh - eggs made to order, fresh fruit, yogurt and a fresh roll. About a 5 minute walk into the main shopping/restaurant area by the pier, but also other restaurants in the area. AC in room worked well. Only complaint would be the neighbor’s dog that liked to bark for 15-20 min in the morning and at night. Otherwise - a lovely visit! Recommended if you want something quiet and comfortable.

Perfect place to stay in Santa Cruz!

I had an incredible stay at Lava House Hostel and would definitely stay here again! It was comfortable, peaceful, tranquil, comfortable, and quiet. I love hammocks and they have several around the property that I used to read and relax after a long day exploring and snorkeling. My room was clean, the bed was comfortable, I love that I had a view of the beautiful, lush garden and had chairs outside that I could use to enjoy the views anytime. My room came with free home cooked breakfast each morning and it was delicious! They also had a filtered water station at reception. The hostel is about a 5min walk into town, but far enough away that the noise isn't a concern. Lava, the adorable black and white dog on the property would love to play fetch with you too! Thank you for a great say!

Quiet and comfortable, yet close to everything

Lovely hotel and grounds very close to harborfront. My private room was very large, a/c and hot water worked well. Breakfast was good with eggs cooked to order, plus fruit,bread,juice, and coffee. The staff were very friendly, and arranged for a taxi up to Baltra for me. I will miss Lava,the playful and cute hotel doggie!

Great pkace

We loved our stay at Lava House. It has lovely outdoor space with various patios and an open air dining area where breakfast was included. The room and lobby had purified water dispensers for filling water bottles. We stayed three night and could easily walk to restaurants, bars, pier.

Great stay. Better breakfast than other hostals. The plants and hammocks make for a nice environment. It was double the cost of our other hostals in puerto ayora but I wouldn’t stay it was 2x better than the other areas.

Great family owned Hostal/hotel

We had a great stay at Lava House! Owners were friendly and helpful. We originally booked one night stay before our cruise but end up coming back after for our last 2 nights as well. Rooms were nice/clean. Shampoo/conditioner and towels were provided. Good hot water. WiFi was not great in room and decent in main area but that seems to be all over the Galapagos. Free breakfast and was one of the better ones on our trip. Fresh water as well which is a bonus! Definitely recommend!

We arrived late and tired. The owner was so welcoming. I needed cash. It was after dark and I was nervous about walking on my own to the bank. Her son in law walked me there and back. I had Wi-Fi problems. They helped me with that. Helped me order food delivery.

La señora muy linda, hace cosas para q estés muy agusto. El hijo la verdad hace que quieras huir de ahí. Hizo fiesta privada familliar, uno viene agotado y quiere descansar y había música a todo volúmen y gente platicando, hasta tarde.Lo que quieres es dormir. Aún les falta sentido de hotel o de hostal. Ese sentido profesional no lo tienen. Aún les falta mucho para lo q de pagó.

Excelente hotel en Santa Cruz de Galápagos

Excelente alojamiento en Puerto Ayora, en la isla de Santa Cruz en Galápagos. Se trata de un hotel familiar, habitaciones muy limpias, amplias, confortables con TV y aire acondicionado. El lugar es muy bonito con jardines y se ofrece un desayuno muy rico por las mañanas. Está bien situado a un paso del mercado, de la zona del Kiosko donde están los restaurantes con menú de 5 dólares, el puerto... Son muy amables y siempre dispuestos a ayudarte.
