「This was our second year here, due to the friendliness of the staff, the comfort of the room, the quality of the food and the location. You can do as much or as little as you like using this as a base. We just love the ambience of the whole area. We did trips by car, train, boat, bus as well as feet. Would visit again. 「Simply WOW! It is a beautiful hotel….book ahead during the peak travel season to get on the guided tour. We did the self guided tour which was very good, but a great tour guide would have filled in little bits and pieces …..plus I think there’s a haunted walk component to it! If you get a chance book Room 304 as it’s a corner room on the top floor and the ONLY one with an additional window with a decent view (4 windows versus just 3). 「Our stay at Higher Trenear Farm was amazing.
We stayed in one of the Mongolian yurts, which was unlike any other accommodation we've experienced and really added to the charm — it was the main reason we booked. The yurt was rustic yet very comfortable, perfect balance.

The hosts are ultra welcoming and friendly. And gave me some great tips on places to visit, including nearby scenic walks.
Plus Simon cooks a top English breakfast and Paula does a great job of keeping the place in order.
They allow dogs, although best to check with them before booking to make sure they will get on with their dogs ok.
The nearby road is noisy early morning, but only if you keep the window fully open.」
