We used this rental as a home base for hiking the area in the fall. It was a beautiful area and one of the hikes was across the street! The host provided top notch amenities making the 18th century building feel modern and welcoming.
Great location for accessing hiking and biking trails. Well supplied kitchen for all our quiet meals at the guest house.
Nice historic cottage, yet with very modern and comfortable amenities. (FYI - There are quite a few steps , just a heads up for anyone who may have trouble with that.) We really enjoyed our stay!
I'll keep this short and sweet. If you want clean, cozy and charming this is absolutely the place. This is our second time staying and once again it was a delight. I think this may be a new yearly tradition for us :)
The guest house is a beautiful 18th century house that has been renovated with all of the best modern conveniences. It was immaculate, very comfortable, and the host provided many little things that enhanced our stay. We especially enjoyed the deck overlooking nearby Pequea Creek, and the walking path along the creek. Dinner one evening on the “Pad-io” of the nearby Frogtown Cafe was very good. Obviously a well-loved local cafe/pub.
We so loved the space and its history. Allison took such pains to create an ambiance embracing what is most lovely locally [fresh flowers, great coffee] and the timelessness of the space. It was comfortable, well appointed and lovely. Allison was incredibly helpful - left us some lovely little cakes upon arrival as well ! We would highly recommend. Please note, that it may be problematic for people with accessibility issues. There are many steps....
We recently had the pleasure of staying at the Ironmaster Mansion guest house, and it was excellent. The restored 1700s two-story stone house is full of character and charm. It is located next to the Pequea Creek. Plus, it’s close (but not too close) to Lancaster and Sight and Sound Theater.
We walked into the guest house and immediately noticed the extra touches like K-cups, fresh-cut flowers, and even milk — we instantly knew this was going to be a great stay.
We loved taking a walk along the trail that follows the creek; next time we’ll bring swimsuits to spend some time in the water.
Having breakfast out on the patio was a highlight, allowing us to soak in nature.
I highly recommend staying at the guest house.
Had an awesome weekend enjoying the historical farmhouse, being one with nature walking the trail across the street, and visiting some local establishments.
From the moment we booked, the owners provided prompt responses and answered any questions we had. Directions were on point and easy to follow.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the history behind the area. The owners took a lot of care in the restoration process.
We even got to relaxed on the porch with a glass of wine while watching the Amish horse and buggies drive by.
The trail immediately across the street was a hidden gem. After about a 35 minute walk you end at a covered bridge. The trail is adjacent to the water; there are areas to stop and take in the scenic views.
Relaxing weekend-we also enjoyed all the special spa products in the bathroom.
Thank you for everything!
Nothing but good things to say here - my partner and I spent a very relaxing and refreshing late fall/early winter weekend here with another couple. Stepping out of the car, we were at once greeted by the soothing babble of the creek. We felt immediately at home - inside and out the home is beautiful and tidy. If you love historic homes, architecture or just rustic charm, this is your place. The kitchen is a joy to cook in (rustic and with lots of counter space, plus new appliances) if that's your thing. The bedrooms are quaint and inviting and quiet nights spent by the fireplace were the best. We honestly spent a lot more time just in the home than we expected - it's so cozy and comfortable that you just don't want to leave. However, there are plenty of trails and things to explore, so definitely take advantage if you can drag yourself away from the comfy glow of the fireplace.
Host was also very nice and communicative via the app, email and text. Made sure we had everything we needed (which we centainly did - home was very well appointed!) but left us be otherwise, so it was very private. Check in and check out were effortless. 100% recommended, we will absolutely be back.
We had a wonderful time and felt really welcome in the very beautiful decorated and stylish cosy little cabin with beautiful fresh flowers in all the rooms, welcoming drinks and food, a big terrace, comfortable beds, all we needed after a few days in the big city! The surroundings were beautiful, for us a lot to explore. We only wished that the traffic on the road beneath was less loud, that would have made our stay in this peaceful place complete!
A true gem in a lovely rural setting. Impeccably decorated in comfortable country style that perfectly compliments its historical roots, yet with every modern convenience incorporated. Great fully equipped modern kitchen & bath, fast wi-fi, excellent AC. Host provided incredibly thoughtful and generous touches, too numerous to mention. A wonderful experience awaits you!
