We loved staying in this ancient building which is beautifully kept. The facilities are great, the staff helpful and friendly, nothing is too much bother. Having breakfast delivered daily in a hamper is something special. It's an easy walk from the bus station at Plaza de Armas (the airport bus) and to anywhere in the main centre. The only downside for us was that the kitchenette is not really equipped for cooking a meal; it's more than adequate for a snack but that is all. Seville however has fantastic food wherever you look so this was hardly a problem! Stayed here for 3 night recently, the place was excellent. It's located in a historial area with a good locals neighborhood with lots of eating options. The ladies at the receiption were friendly and happy to help with any questions and recommended places to visit in Seville upon arrival, not many places do this, so thank you for that! I requested a quiet room, which they offered me. The room is clean, bed was comfortable! 2 things to improve would be, to have an iron at the hostal as I couldn't find any place near by :) apart from this, I would highly recommend this and I'd stay here again when I'm back in Seville.…Stayed here for 3 night recently, the place was excellent. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Esmeralda. Jesus is a fabulous host, who provided us with all the information we needed for our 10 day stay. He has even designed a custom made map of the immediate neighborhood, showing transit stops, grocery stores, bakeries etc. The apartment is spacious, well appointed and immaculately clean. We chose this apartment specifically because it was *not* central. But rather in a quiet, pedestrian only street a short bus ride from the hustle and noise of central Seville. The one instance we took a cab from the old town back to the apartment, the fare was 6 Euros. The immediate area around Esmerelda is filled with small bars, restaurants and a fantastic ice cream parlor (just past the #14 bus stop). At the end of our sightseeing day, we frequently found ourselves hanging out on the terrace of Manchega, a little neighbourhood place (2 minute walk from the apartment) patronized by local families. Airport taxi is a flat rate of 25 Eu. The #14 and #10 bus will bring you from the old town almost to the front door. Take advantage of the Bonobus transit pass. All in all a great find.
