"A magical, magical New England weekend at The Red Lion Inn. The room was so warm, the bed and pillows were so comfortable and just the right firmness. The pool and hot tube were open, maybe bring a swimsuit if you are up for a soak in the hot tub on a cold snowy day or night. Check in was a breeze, staff were warm and welcoming. Highly recommend making reservations at their Tavern or Dining Area. Several small cafes and charming local shops close by for Christmas shopping"

"We were in Stockbridge for the first time for our annual family Thanksgiving and orienteering event. Most stayed at the inn, but some rented the Taggert House as a place where family could easily be together It was perfect and so conveniently located a short and beautiful walk to town. The house is huge, the kitchen is roomy and well-stocked, the beds were comfortable and each bedroom had its own bathroom. The pool table was a big hit. Parking was easy. The owners couldn’t have been nicer or more responsive. I highly recommend the Taggert House and, if your group is extra large, also rent their River House just behind it. Five stars plus. We will be back! "

We loved the private backyard in the quiet neighborhood. We were able to walk into town on safe walkways. Short drive to hiking trails. "Bed was quite comfortable and the setting was in a beautiful neighborhood. Excellent proximity to Tanglewood. And host gave exceptional information regarding local eateries and things to do. I would have liked to have known at booking that the owner does not accept credit (as the hotels.com app allows for the appearance of down payment by credit). All was well resolved at time of arrival but more accurate information on the description at booking would be helpful and clarifying. Also this is more of a private room rental than hotel stay. Also well and good, though again, accurate representation via hotels.com description should make this more clear. All in all a good stay and would recommend for anyone seeking a very close stay for Tanglewood performances. "
