「No traffic noise except maybe when the freighters passed. Awesome sunrises. Dock was more than enough for our 22' pontoon. And fishing was very productive」

「Super cute cottage on Sugar Island. This was my first time on the island. We didn’t have much time to explore, but getting to the cottage was easy. Perfect place for my daughter and I for a weekend of hockey in The Soo. (There for sure would’ve been room for the whole family to stay though.) We will be keeping this place in mind for more hockey trips that fall when it’s open! 」

「We had a great stay in Brimley. Host was very accommodating allowing us a late check so we could stay to watch grandsons last hockey game on Sunday.」

「My partner, dog and I came to sugar island to experience a new place in the UP and we will certainly be returning to Sweet Retreat!! Sheri and Jeff were the most accommodating of hosts and truly go above and beyond to ensure everyone’s comfort and fun. We used the bikes on the property and were lucky enough to take a pontoon cruise with the hosts our last night. The cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything we needed. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough! We can’t wait to come back!」

「Most beautiful cabin in a lovely setting! Extremely well decorated. Didn’t want for anything. Hosts Joyce and Greg very helpful in taking us to the different freighter viewing sites on the island. Definitely plan to return. 」

「Wow! We were absolutely amazed by the wonderful hospitality of these hosts! They made sure we had everything we needed and provide such a peaceful and gorgeous setting on Sugar Island. The house was perfect for our large family and everyone was very comfortable. The small store on site has ice cream, cold drinks and unique treasures. 」

「This is the third time we have stayed at this location and love the place. How ever we probably won't be back until after my wife has her hip replacement since she can't negotiate the stairs to enter the house or the bedroom we like to use on the second floor. That bedroom has the best and largest bed. Love watching the boats come in and out and the variety of birs in and around the lake front.」

「My husband and I came up for a weekend to recharge. This rustic, charming cabin was perfect! The owners were fantastic to deal with. The dock was a peaceful place to watch the sunrise with your coffee. Will definitely be back. 」

「Nice place. Thanks 」

「We stayed for a week with our three kids (11, 15, 17) and had an AMAZING time! Found plenty to do within 60 minutes, and also enjoyed 3/4 days just hanging at the house. The beach was better than we imagined, watching the freighters was a family affair, the ferry was a breeze and evening fires on the sandy beach was a favorite. We also saw the aforementioned red fox on several occasions, which was cool. We brought our kayaks and loved taking them out. Would love to plan a return trip!」
