"La Mezzaluna is a short walk from Barga Gallicano train station, and buses to Lucca. Rita is amazingly hospitable & welcoming, and did so much to make our stay enjoyable. Rooms are very nice, buffet breakfast set us up for the day.
There is a bus up to Barga during the day, and a taxi back in evening.If you visit Barga, this is the place to stay. "

"This was our third time staying in 4 years, which hopefully says it all. The barn itself is full of character combined with modern fittings. The setting is idyllic with a lovely sunny patio and garden, and gorgeous views across to the duomo and Barga old town, and far-reaching views over the valley. It really is a special place with a sense of tranquility yet just 25 mins walk or 5-10mins drive into Barga. We’ve only been back a few days and already can’t wait to return. "

"Cool comfortable house high in the hills. Lovely setting a mix of gardens, olive and cherry orchards and woodland. We breakfasted to the song of blackcaps with bee eaters, hoopoes and buzzards glimpsed in flight. We felt very close to wildlife. The best pool we have ever swumIn. Clear mountain air. Delightful Barga and other villages nearby. Good places to eat within 10 minites drive. Lovely hosts, nearby if we had a problem but discrete. Arrived with delicious homegrown cherries and courgettes. "
