Rooms are beautiful and large

We absolutely loved our stay. Staff was so courteous and helpful. The rooms were clean and spacious. Beds were comfortable. Breakfast was great. We hope to be back! The area is so beautiful. Be sure to hike over to the waterfalls and hopefully see some wild monkeys.

Family that runs this is so thoughtful and provided a great stay.

This was my first time staying at a ryokan. I had a wonderful time. The view was simply amazing. The dinner and breakfast meals were 10 out of 10 for presentation and taste. The baths were equally refreshing. The only thing I could critique is the bed was a little minimal compared to western beds I'm used to. I still got a great nights rest and would come back in a heartbeat.

Staying here was very pleasant. After checking in, we reserved one of the private baths (Reservations are for 45 minutes, and one reservation can be made at a time,) and headed down to the town to walk around. The walk from the hotel to the station at the bottom/central area of town is about ten or fifteen minutes. Hotel Goshobo truly envelops you in the history and tradition of a Ryoukan. The staff are super serious about their presentation and very very friendly. A stay here even for a single night is highly recommended.

Our stay at the Negiya Ryofukaku was nothing short of excellent. The staff were very professional and polite, accommodating both our very limited Japanese language skills and our request for a larger yukata (I'm apparently taller than the average guest). Must take the train car (not covered by JR) to this location from JR Sannomiya Station. 10 minute walk up a steep hill from the Arimaonsen Station to the hotel. The hotel well maintained and clean, both kaiseki dinner and breakfast was excellent. Onsen have 1st floor indoor ginsen & kinsen for hotel guests, 2nd indoor/3rd open air bath open for public. Staff very attentive and helpful especially for shuttle bus and helping me to get to the bus station and catching the correct bus. When check in, they really patient to explain each floor amenities and dinner/breakfast location, also there's welcome drink lounge self serve. I'll definitely stay again on...

The hotel should give notice to guests at reservation how to take shuttle bus from either bus station or train station to the hotel as the hotel is on a hill.

This is an excellent, upscale property that really takes good care of guests. The room we stayed in was very large, especially compared to normal Japanese hotels. The hot spring is well maintained, and the dinner was excellent. Staff were friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.

I loved staying here and regret not spending more than one night and time on site. The staff was very responsive to my messages and even let us leave luggage there after check-out until 9pm.
