We had a deluxe king room. The room was small and basic, but sparkly clean and had a very comfortable bed. We really liked the location. It was very central to everything we wanted to do.

There were Harbor Seals on the beach along our trail walk between Lover Point and the Aquarium. 2 knowledgeable Volunteer Docents there answered all our questions and provided information. Kids were really interested and got to see lots of wildlife along the trail.

Great parking at Cannery Row in public parking structure for all day $10 charge. A bargain!

If you go to enjoy Monterey itself, DON'T go during Car Week (3rd week in Aug.) Its a zoo. Traffic sucks and everything is fully booked. AVOID THIS TIME, unless you're there for Car Week...plus every hotel in the area charges double the regular rate JUST FOR CAR WEEK.
