"This is a wonderful hotel in an amazing location in Platka! The rooftop restaurant for breakfast and any other meal has the most magnificent view of the Acropolis and Athens as a whole. I would definitely stay there again when in Athens. What I want to identify to others booking is that the images shared on Expedia did not match what I expected in my hotel room. Our hotel room, a classic double was disappointing. All the images of the hotel showed everything bright and shiny. I was surprised when we walked down a dated hallway. The carpet was old and clearly in need of replacing. Our room while decent did not represent well the image that we saw when we booked. It too, was dated. There were no plugs by the bed to charge any items or plug in a cpac ( the hotel after hearing my complaint offered an extension cord). The wallpaper was worn as well. In short, the room has not been modernized and is in need of an update. The room is European small and hard to navigate with two suitcases. The bathroom did seem to be more updated. The couple we travelled with booked on another site and for a very slight higher rate had a beautiful modernized large room. The dated hallways on the floors cross section with the newer more modern wing and their updated hallways. The contrast is clear. I am adding this review to allow others booking to get the room they are expecting. "

"I have never paid so much for a hotel that had so little to offer. The room was absolutely lacking in color and detail; everything but the duvet was grey. But what really disturbed me was the fact that the pool was not operating. No reason was provided for this. I was really looking forward to a good swim before a 12-flight. The restaurants were nearly empty and it was easy to understand why; the prices were exorbitant. For $500 US per night, you'd think they could at least include breakfast in the fee. ILike most guests, I simply walked back to the airport and bought food there. Given that the Sofitel is the ONLY airport hotel, they are able to get away with charging so much for so little."

"Very clean and nice view of the water. The restaurant was great and the $10 breakfast buffet was wonderful. We hired a drive to take us to the temple of Poseidon an hour away as we had a day to waste before our flight. There were plenty places to eat. A nice beach with beach chairs and umbrellas and a tiki bar snack place on the beach. There’s not much to do but it was a great place to rest up after our 15 day trip around Greece. "

"A relaxed and refreshing stay. Just what I needed , for the most part. Only disappointment for me was the lack of Expedia VIP upgrade to a sea view room that I was looking forward to. Also the front desk were not very helpful for a later checkout on the last day given my evening flight departure."

"The area was slightly questionable but in hindsight it was five. The location was very central with shoppes a short walk away. Tonsssssssssss of places to eat especially late night! The room was exceptionally clean. I had a king bed, tv, microwave, mini fridge. The bathroom was clean. The housekeepers were always willing to tidy up for you and didn’t come banging on your door the day of checkout. Just overall such nice ppl!"
