"I’m not one who usually stays anywhere but hotels when I travel but staying here for the weekend has me second guessing future trips. "Arrived at hotel around 1:30pm, hadn't slept in 2 days, front desk clerk was going to get me checked in until another clerk came up behind her and said someone told them they need to start charging 100 dollars for early check in. Clerk A says, i told her we could because there is plenty availability ready to go. Clerk B says it doesn't matter. New policy is to charge a 100$. Key cards often stop working. Had to get new ones twice and witnessed same for others. Elevator was down in parking garage (Garage to lobby is pretty dirty). Also, limited parking. If you get in in the evening, expect there to be no parking. Parking is 34 a night at hotel.. When it feels up, you then have to park your car across the lot in overflow for 25 dollars and arent allowes ins and outs (It sucks). Had to park there 2 of 3 nights and pay and hotel still charged me for 2 nights at their property. Lots of dust and corrosion on exposed pipes in bathroom. Room not deep cleaned. Breakfast was good especially the omelette and pancake station (although it closes pretty early at 9 am during the week (missed first day because of this as most places its open until 10am). Close to Bart, Grocery stores, Gas Stations and highway. Bed was comfortable."

The Meritage Resort and Spa

"At check-in, we were informed that our reserved room was unavailable due to an engineering issue. We had booked a Signature 1 Bedroom with kitchen and dining area to celebrate a birthday, but the replacement room was far below what we reserved and did not meet our needs. We were offered a small resort credit and promised two things: 1) a birthday surprise would be sent to the room, and 2) we would be contacted the next day to move into our original room as soon as it became available. We were also told that third-party bookings like Expedia are often the first to lose rooms during shortages, which made us feel like second-class guests. Unfortunately, neither promise was ever fulfilled. No birthday amenity arrived, and no one ever contacted us about changing rooms. Attempts to reach the front desk or concierge led only to voicemail or endless virtual assistant loops. At checkout, we were told our reserved room never became available and were blamed for not following up ourselves. The guest services agent, while kind, stated that management approved a 25% nightly credit through Expedia. The next day Expedia confirmed they had received no such request and could not reach resort leadership. The Meritage is a beautiful, well-maintained property, but the service, communication, and follow-through fell far short of basic hospitality expectations."

"Helpful and friendly staff and a great location. But some of the rooms are showing their age. The den with balcony is large but very dark in the bedroom, the toilet runs, the rainfall shower head doesn’t completely shut off when you switch to the hand held shower head, the hand held shower head is stuck leaving us unable to raise or lower it, one of the electric curtains is broken. Small stuff, but in adds up."
