Linville Falls, NC

Travel Guide

The smaller falls at Linville Falls in North Carolina, USA. The hike is pretty easy and you get great views of the mountains and the falls. You are not allowed to swim in that refreshing looking pool unfortunately but the views are nice! There is a nice parking lot where you can leave your car and there is no fee to hike the trails (as far as I remember).

I took this picture over the summer at Linville falls. The first known inhabitants of the Linville Falls area were the Cherokee Indians. For me, this felt like walking back 200 years in the past and experience what the natives experienced. Everything is preserved so beautifully. You are not really very far from civilization but when you see this and experience it, it feels like you have gone back in time. Linville Falls is the most popular waterfall in the Blue Ridge Mountains. It’s beautiful as it frames the typical Appalachia scenery like mountains and waterfalls. The Falls Trail distance is around 1.5-ish miles’ round trip and easy. It captures the true essence of Appalachia. It is truly worth the visit! #appalachianechoes
Another FREE, pet-friendly must-see site along the Blue Ridge Parkway, the hike up to Linville Falls can seem a bit steep if you are not overly outdoorsy. With several look out areas as rest stops, you can have a breather. The views keep you motivated to reach the highest look out, however, as the scenery gets better and better. This area is not wheelchair accessible, unfortunately, but well worth the hike for anyone who is interested!
You never know what is going to pop-up on a view during a summer rain storm. Chestoa View surprised us with this.
