Family Vacation

We enjoyed our stay in Lauterbrunnen. While the town itself was very busy the central location of Lauterbrunnen allowed us to quickly escape the hustle and bustle and explore the surrounding mountains. The home had everything we needed. For us as international travellers it would have been helpful to have some instructions on the laundry machines and oven, as the symbols were different. All in all a wonderful stay.

Très beau chalet

Chalet au calme très bien situé, bien équipé, avec un accueil agréable. Très confortable pour 11 personnes. Malgré quelques équipements défectueux (lunette de toilette casée !). Contact local agréable cependant ne répondant que de façon intermittente.

Great family vacation

We came to celebrate my mother in laws 80th birthday. The chalet was in good order and comfortable except the one room did not have the sleeper sofa. The view off of our balcony can’t be beat. We couldn’t stop looking at it.

Sehr schön gelegenes Chalet mit grossem Garten!

Das Chalet hat wunderbare Aussicht auf den Staubbachfall und liegt sehr ruhig! Sehr schöne Möblierung und viel Platz! Die Betten dürften für 2 Personen etwas breiter sein. Zum Glück waren wir nur 5 Personen und hatten deshalb grosszügig Platz in den div. Zimmern ! Der Aufenthalt war alles in allem erholsam!Danke!

Switzerland when locked down - COVID 19 2920

The chalet was fine but our trip had to unexpectedly be cut short due to COVID 19 & Switzerland restrictions put in place only 4 days into our stay. We had to leave 2 days early to ensure we could return to the UK

Great Chalet and location

This was my second stay in this chalet the first being in June 2014. It is well located in the centre of the village but off the main road in a vey quiet location with great views of the valley and the Staubach Waterfall. The chalet is spacious and comfortable. The only thing I would say is that the bathroom on the ground floor has no working lock on the door. This does not appear to have changed from my first visit. Also a shower curtain or screen would be useful to have in there as well. But in all a good place to stay and a great location.

Mouse. Very Rude. Beware renting from Interhome.

Our girls were awakened by a mouse in the middle of our first night in the Chalet am Scharm. It had opened up and nibbled some chestnuts our girls (ages 5 and 8) had collected and kept in their suitcase. It also apparently ate a chestnut on our youngest daughter since her pajama top had chestnut stains on it. I will try to post pics of this but not sure if I have the ability. Nobody in our party slept well for the rest of that first night and we spent half of the next day calling back and forth between Interhome's (the rental company) main office and the property manager. Each passed the buck to the other. We were hoping for a refund, to be moved to a different Interhome-run property, or at very least have some pest control and cleaning done. After several calls and wasting half of our first of five days in Switzerland, we were finally able to get the property manager to drop off a couple mouse traps and some fresh sheets. That's it. That night we did trap the mouse and fortunately noticed no other pest problems, but never really felt comfortable about the cleanliness/pest situation. On our last day, we were to check out by 10am, which we did. Our train out of Lauterbrunnen did not leave until 3 hours later. We asked to property manager at checkout if we could leave our bags neatly and out of the way in the hallway inside the house so we didn't have to lug them around for three hours leading up to our departure. He was nice enough to agree. He told us that the cleaning lady (who is actually his wife) wouldn't likely be there until 1 anyway. We returned by 12:15 to find that the cleaning lady was already there. She seemed very peeved that we'd left our bags there and only allowed us in one-at-a-time to retrieve them. We were almost embarrassed to ask her when our children wanted to use the restroom. She irritatedly let them in one-at-a-time, and while they were doing so used the opportunity to complain to us that people like us coming in and out of doors is the reason they get mice. Pretty soon we were bickering with this woman, who was the opposite of apologetic and professional. When we returned, we wrote a letter of complaint to Interhome to try to get some refund. After waiting over two weeks for a response, we were finally offered 10% off of our next stay with Interhome. Next stay?? Seriously? Like we visit Switzerland every year and, even if we did, would want to stay at one of their properties. Do not rent from Interhome
