「Delightful. The hostess goes out of her way to assist walkers. Little things, like putting transferred luggage into guests’ rooms, mean such a lot at the end of a long day’s walking. Delicious scones on arrival and very nice breakfast. Lots of tips for the West Highland Way.」

「Everything was great at The Oak Tree Inn! Staff were wonderful (especially Kay) so friendly and welcoming! The pub was so nice with a cozy fire. Our food and drinks were great. Our room had a great view of the water and the sunset.」

「A step-back-in-time and off-the-beaten-path small hotel with all the quintessential character, charm, and quality service you could hope for. The cooked-to-order breakfast was included in our stay and very tasty. Comfortable bed and great shower. This place is truly memorable in every way.」

「Excellent hostel! I stayed in the Court - I’m a light sleeper and even with earplugs, I woke often as people were coming and going at all hours of the night. Disturbances would likely be less in the other rooms. The facilities, social aspect of the hostel and the staff were top notch! They have activities each day to connect you with others. As a solo traveller, it was incredible and more reason to stay in a hostel. Price was great for Edinburgh and the location cannot be beat!」

「Perfectly serviceable budget room, small but comfortable enough. Clean. The main problem was noise - walls are paper thin and you'll need ear plugs even if people aren't particularly rowdy. Floor above my room creaked loudly all night with people just walking about. Didn't get much sleep. I'd also not recommend the food - worst I've had in a long time. Staff were friendly and helpful.」

「Such a nice place! So well kept and such a good location on the square. Amazing restaurant downstairs and the breakfast was incredible. Service was amazing and the gentleman checking us in was hilarious and welcoming! Would advise anyone visiting Hburgh to stay here!」

「Lots of character, dining excellent, breakfast less so with limited range of non cooked foods.」

「Beautiful lake view, great staff and lovely spa. The restaurant is convenient and good quality. This place is top」

「Great location and charming village. Wish we had planned to spend more time there!」

「The room was clean and bed comfortable. Nice decor in the room. Evening meal food was excellent. Breakfast was disappointing, not cooked to the same standard of the evening food. Dog friendly. Huge carpark. Fabulous position with views over the bay. Just be aware its a mile past the centre of Helensburgh and it's a lovely walk into town.」

「Lovely place with history and unique design. They have a pool and hot tub too, which was great! The staff was very friendly as well.」
