「Great stay well looked after, fabulous views, good food and quite a few places to walk. Staff were very friendly.」

「The mattresses and pillows were really bad. Nothing was very clean other than the bathrooms. Our sink made noises most of the night, and our toilet rarely flushed. There was incredibly limited parking. There was a leak on our ceiling and very thin walls. You could hear every other occupant. There was also an unpleasant smell in one of our two rooms.」

「The hostel is in a wonderful position and it's a grand old building. We really enjoyed staying here. We had a private room and it was very large. The shared toilets and showers were all very clean. Our only disappointment was the food. We chose to have dinner when we arrived. You pre order and then go to the dining room at a pre arranged time. 「Nice breakfast, The property looks the same as it did 5 years ago and has lost that cosy feel. It needs a little TLC and it seems to have lost the ‘Scottish roots’ Staff are very polite but wouldn’t say friendly with almost a passive agressive attitude. 」

「Rooms and inn itself were great. Service at dinner was extremely slow to the point where we had to flag down a different staff member every time we needed something basic like getting water, ordering dessert, or even paying our bill. The restaurant also had the most uncomfortable restaurant chairs ever. Definitely not what we were hoping for after a long hard day of hiking up and down Conic Hill. It literally hurt more to sit than stand」
