"Breakfast time was not very organised, perhaps this was because there was only one member of staff visible. The buffet was very poor. As guests we had to ask for hot food. There were no croissants or bread (which arrived frozen) and very little fresh fruit. Not what we expected for a 4 star hotel."

"The whole place was pretty tired and in need of a good redecoration. The room we had 204 was dated but the bed was clean. The bathroom had broken tiles on the floor and the shower area had mouldy patches. We did NOT use the shower. The bar area was ok snd the bar staff were friendly. The corridor leading to our room smelt of vomit, it was quite unpleasant. We decided not to eat breakfast there the next morning. The price was good and I didn’t expect it to be 5* but to be honest, I probably wouldn’t go back. Shame, good location and lots of potential."

"Unfortunately, our stay was extremely disappointing and did not represent the standard we expected for the price paid. The issues we experienced included: 1. Broken windows in our room. 2. Two single mattresses pushed together, leaving an uncomfortable gap in the middle which made it very difficult to sleep. 3. A dirty and stained sofa in the room. 4. Constant banging and noise from the room above throughout the night, resulting in little to no sleep. 5. The inability to order a traditional English breakfast, as only chicken sausages and turkey bacon were available this hotel done not do a full English 6. Insufficient milk provided in the room, meaning we could not even make a full cup of coffee. 7. An additional charge for steak on the advertised three-course meal. And you can not buy separate meals 8. Overall, the hotel was significantly overpriced for the quality and service received. Taken together, these issues seriously affected our enjoyment of the stay and fell well below what would reasonably be expected from a hotel charging these rates."

"A very enjoyable week, the property being situated in a lovely area with beautiful grounds. We had a quiet and relaxed week. Susie was very helpful recommending local places to eat which were all excellent."
