"I first stayed at the Ginger bread house in the 80ies not long after it became a B&B. It is just as wonderful now as it was then. From tea time to the stroll in the garden is was a magical stay. The one draw back was booking through VRBO. I was not able to contact the hostess directly and wasn't sure how to check in. It is best to make reservations by directly calling them. "The San Diego family traveled to Arcata for my grandson's high school graduation. The house was generously sized for adults and younger grandchildren who made the trip. The location was quiet yet close to grocery shopping in Sunny Brae. The house was very clean and neat, bath towels fluffy, kitchen fully equipped. The upstairs suite was perfect for the oldest (me) member of our troupe. I highly recommend Humboldt Haven!"

For example the laundry soap and the coffee mugs. No iron or ironing board. The knob to change from tub to shower head was very difficult to turn. Otherwise everything was perfect."
