「They didn't have enough towels or rags in the room, had to take the 2 down that were in the room to get more. Plus it smelled like natural gas in the rooms. When I ask them about it they said it was because they fixed the pool and told us to just open the window. Plus they advertise free breakfast and they didn't have anything except for coffee out.」

「I travel to So. Illinois annually to visit but this is my first stay at the Makanda Inn. It will not be my last. I had a very peaceful stay- after long days of family visit and running around with the grands, it was so nice to stay here where it was quiet and relaxing. Breakfast every morning was top notch and just the right portions.」

「The cabin was wonderful! The property absolutely beautiful as well. Very clean. The bed is very firm, but that is my only complaint. Bring some fishing poles if you enjoy fishing, I wish we had as my son would have loved it.」

「Quite woodland retreat. A wonderful cabin with two beds and a sitting area with TV and eating area. Great size room, not far from the main building where you order your dinner to go and eat it in your cabin due to COVID Friendly staff Bring your shampoo and conditioner 」

「Four grown men on a weekend fishing trip. Cabin was perfect. Great grill on the back porch…we cooked every single meal out there. Very peaceful. Host was very accommodating and the cabin had every thing we needed.」

Host has thought of everything—spices and cookbooks in the kitchen, variety of toiletries and hygiene items in the bathroom, books and magazines, variety of games for all ages, even a hammock!
