The cottage was clean, spacious, had 2 bathrooms (which is uncommon for small cabins). It was very well stocked with kitchen items, and the bath towels were awesome, the bed was very nice. It was peaceful and beautiful. The hostess, Suzie was easy to contact and helpful when we had a question upon checking ìn. I would recommend this place and would stay again if we are in the area!

Cute Dongola Cabin

Cute updated cabin with a rich history on small lake. It was central to all the places and things we visited. Suzzie was an excellent host. We had our family of 5 there for the weekend and it was a great place to stay. We'll be back in the future.

What a gem!

This place is nothing short of amazing. The views, the fishing and the wildlife. This short trip to decompress from work was so worth it and we wish we had more time off to stay longer. Suzy is amazing. The cabin is adorable and fully stocked with all the things you need. This will be another of our yearly stops!

We’ll be back!

The deck is amazing, the view from the deck is even better 😍. The paddle boats were fun and the lake is nice and big. We caught a few fish in it too. Suzzie is a wonderful host and was very quick to respond from the start. We visited in March (obviously a chillier time of year in Illinois) and it was worth it. I can’t wait to go back!

Getaway weekend

Is located about 35 minutes from Marion and 45 from Carbondale. A small town with Walmart and others businesses is about 10 minutes away. The residence is an older house that has been very well maintained and is super clean. The hostess was very helpful with everything. There are seats out front and a large deck, with a covered area, on the back porch that overlooks a large pond. There is only one residence that can be seen from this one and we never saw anyone around it. This is a great place to stay and relax. Will be looking forward to going back and staying in the future.

This was our second time staying here and we stayed for a full week. Fully enjoyed the time away from home. I did a lot of fishing and my wife did some crafting. Enjoyed a fire down by the lake with roasted hotdogs and s'mores. Grilled for dinner a couple of times also. Other nights we brought pre-prepared meals. It's a great getaway out away from the cities. Be prepared to relaxed and enjoy!
